Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) Visit Programme


GENERAL INFORMATION

The aim of the Programme is to support:
 

  • Education and training in pulmonary vascular diseases for specialists in cardiology or pulmonology from Central- East European    countries
  • Optimal diagnosis and treatment of  PH according to local availability of contemporary methods

PROGRAMME OUTLINE

Presentation of the Pulmonary Vascular Unit

       Visits to
 

  •  Department and Out-patient facilities dedicated to diagnosis and care of chronic PH (Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) and Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension CTEPH))
  •  Echocardiographic Laboratory assisting in diagnostic/ prognostic and follow-up assessment
  • of patients with suspected/diagnosed pulmonary vascular disease
  •  Division of Radiology exploring the role of imaging methods for diagnosis and differential diagnosis of PH
  •  Haemodynamic Laboratory assisting in standard Right Heart Catheterization (RHC)  and discuss its role in diagnosis/staging and follow-up of patients with Pulmonary Vascular Diseases (PVD)

     Discussion of

  • Clinical cases with focus on the role of clinical and laboratory variables in the context of availability of therapeutic options for clinical decision-making
  • Potential areas of future collaboration in clinical or research programmes dedicated to PC

Presentation of National Therapeutic Programme dedicated to Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension and Registry dedicated to Chronic Pulmonary Hypertension.

Please submit in English language at latest 2 months prior to the visit:

     1. CV
     2. Recommendation letter from the Head of Department
     3. Copy of general insurance (civil responsibility and accident) covering the visiting week
     4. Your preferred week for visit

To facilitate visa applications a letter by the hospital stating the visit duration may be issued.

The weeks course starts on Monday and finishes on Friday; the programme may be to some extent tailored to needs of individual visitors.

Certificate of participation will be handed out.

Hotel accommodation and local transportation provided.
